2023 Chess Played Quick - Puzzles: All The Information

Chess Played Quick is Chess.com's series of events where top chess streamers do speedruns and complete bounties for prizes.

The 2023 Chess Played Quick: Puzzles Edition happens on January 9 at 9 a.m. PT/18:00 CET—kicking off puzzle week! The event features top streamers performing a series of puzzle speedruns for two hours to collect bounties while striving to stay at the top of the puzzle leaderboards. The event counts with 2,000 Twitch subs as the prize fund, with 1,000 subs going for the highest-ranked puzzle solvers and the remaining 1,000 for bounties.


Format

In this edition of Chess Played Quick, streamers compete to achieve their best Puzzles and Puzzle Battle Ratings, as well as three- and five-minute Puzzle Rush scores. They also do Puzzles, Puzzle Battle, and Puzzle Rush speedruns to collect bounties. 

The competition lasts two hours, and players have 48 hours after the end of the event to claim their prizes using the proof submission form. 

Prizes

The event has a 2,000 Twitch subs prize fund, with half the subs going to leaderboard winners:

Puzzle Rating

  • 1st: 200 subs
  • 2nd: 100 subs
  • 3rd: 50 subs

Puzzle Battle Rating

  • 1st: 200 subs
  • 2nd: 100 subs
  • 3rd: 50 subs

Puzzle Rush Scores

  • Best three-minute Puzzle Rush: 100 subs
  • Best five-minute Puzzle Rush: 100 subs
  • Best Puzzle Rush Survival score: 100 subs

The other 1,000 subs are divided by the total number of bounties claimed (e.g., if there are 500 total valid claims, each bounty is worth two subs).

  • Reach a 1000 rating
  • Reach a 1500 rating
  • Reach a 2000 rating

Puzzle Rush And Survival

  • Score 15 points in a three-minute Rush.
  • Score 25 points in a three-minute Rush.
  • Score 35 points in a three-minute Rush.
  • Score 25 points in a five-minute Rush.
  • Score 35 points in a five-minute Rush.
  • Score 45 points in a five-minute Rush.
  • Score 35 points in Puzzle Rush Survival.
  • Score 45 points in Puzzle Rush Survival.
  • Score 55 points in Puzzle Rush Survival.

Schedule

Chess Played Quick: Puzzles Edition 2023 takes place on January 9, starting at 9 a.m. PT/18:00 CET and lasting for two hours. Players have 48 hours after the end of the event to send their proof submission forms and claim their bounties. 

Rules And Signup

  • Only active Twitch affiliates or partner streamers can participate in the event.
  • Participants will play using new accounts created by Chess.com staff members.
  • Players cannot change seeking parameters during the speedrun.
  • There can only be one player participating per stream.
  • Players must sign up using the event's official form—applications close 48 hours before the start of the event.
  • Players have 48 hours after the end of the event to claim their bounties using the proof submission form.
  • Players must stream their participation in the event.
  • Players must connect their streaming account to Chess.com.
