The CGC Knockouts features the strongest field of players in Chess.com's history. With a quick glance at the bracket, you'll see both GMs Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren—in other words, the next world champion.
Three former rapid world champions are also joining the field: GMs Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Vasyl Ivanchuk, and Viswanathan Anand. Of course, the current rapid world champion GM Nodirbek Adbusattorov is also going to be fighting for a spot in the finals.
Some of the strongest young prodigies in the world will be hungry to earn Chess.com glory. GMs Arjun Erigaisi, Nihal Sarin, Raunak Sadhwani, Jeffery Xiong, Andrey Esipenko, and Kirill Shevchenko are all here to prove that the future of the game is in good hands.

Every now and then, we get the opportunity to watch a chess player making history. Unfortunately, many chess fans have previously missed the opportunity to watch legends like GMs Viswanathan Anand, Vladimir Kramnik, Veselin Topalov, Vasyl Ivanchuk, and Alexei Shirov playing. Now is your chance to see these former world champions, challengers, and candidates grace the 64 squares once again.
The CGC field consists of five world champions: Anand, Kramnik, Topalov, Ju Wenjun, and Hou Yifan. They will be joined by five world championship challengers, GMs Peter Leko, Boris Gelfand, Gata Kamsky, Fabiano Caruana, and Nepomniachtchi. Chess fans around the world won't want to miss this!
Biggest Prize Fund In Chess.com History
The CGC features a $1,100,000 prize fund, the largest in Chess.com history. For the Knockout phase, $440,000 are going to players' pockets. On top of that, the eight players who advance to the Finals will compete for a $500,000 prize fund, with $200,000 going to the champion.
When stakes are this high, the craziest things can happen, and you don't want to miss a second of it.
