PogChamps 3 Chess Puzzles: Day 5
The fifth day of PogChamps 3 presented by GRIP6 brought us another set of thrilling matches. The underdogs were determined to not make their opponents' lives easy, but eventually the higher-rated players prevailed.
Michelle Khare vs. Logic
Logic beat Michelle Khare in an interesting match. Despite being new to the game, Michelle showed great undertanding of each position she played. Sadly for the HBO host, her tactical skills are not at the same level as those of Logic—a fact that cost her the match.

MrBeast vs. MoistCr1tikal
PogChamps veteran MoistCr1tikal won his match, but MrBeast did not go down without a fight. MrBeast even had a winning position during the first game. Jimmy's worst enemy was his clock—something that you can avoid in your games if you solve puzzles consistently.

This is a common opening pattern. In fact, Rainn fell for a similar tactic in his game against GM Magnus Carlsen. Keep an eye out for this sort of position!
