I was born in December of 1970. My dad was a chess player, and when I was young he introduced me to the game. He taught me a few opening moves for white, and when we played, I played the white pieces most of the time. I played chess with a few friends over the years until high school, then almost never played. 

After 30+ years, I was visiting an old friend and he broke out a chess set. We played a game and it renewed my interest in the game. I began looking online for help improving my play, and I found Chess.com. So since Aug. 2020 I have been devoting as much time as possible to the study of the game, spending 90% of my time, or more, studying and playing tactics.
