Panchenko Memorial 2021, Day 7: Not giving up!
Hi everyone!
I am writing this blog post today, September 20th, because yesterday after two rounds I was simply not able to do it. Unfortunately, I have no good news. I lost both games yesterday. The only consolation is that the games were fighting. In the 7th round I had a significant advantage that I could not realize. In the game of the 8th round, the advantage was lost too quickly and I had to fight for "survival".
It's pretty hard to deal with losing streak. Every time I comfort myself and say that this is just a training tournament and that the result is not so important, but I still get upset because of the lost games. My rating is plummeting downward. I wonder if this is just a bad streak or is this my real level? I want to believe that the first.
I am thinking... it is easy to give up and quit. But what will come of it? Nothing good for me... It remains to pull yourself together, continue the fight (there are still 2 rounds left) and try to do everything possible. (I wanted to add that it is also important to have fun, but believe me, it is not fun at all now ).
How do YOU deal with losing (a losing streak)? I'm talking about losing in OTB chess, because online is completely different.
Thank you very much for reading. More news in my next blog post!
