The Second Season of the Balkan League Starting Soon!

After the resounding success of the first season, we're excited to officially announce the launch of the second season of the Balkan League, starting in 2025! This tournament has brought together chess enthusiasts from across the Balkans, uniting them in friendly competition while celebrating the rich chess culture of the region.

The Balkan League is a multi-club arena tournament where teams from various Balkan countries compete to secure the top spot on the leaderboard.

🙌 Open Call for New Teams

As we gear up for the new season, we're calling on all active chess clubs across the Balkans to step forward and represent their country! If your team is ready to compete and showcase your nation's chess talent, please reach out to us at @BalkanLeague.

We are particularly seeking active clubs that can field dedicated players and ensure high participation in every round. This is your chance to put your club on the map and contribute to making the Balkan League even more exciting!

If no new and more active clubs express interest in representing their countries, the league will proceed with the same lineup of teams from the first season. However, we strongly encourage clubs to seize this opportunity to participate and help elevate the competitive spirit of the league.

📌 A New Structure for the League

Starting with this upcoming season, and for all future seasons, the Balkan League will consist of 4 rounds spread across a span of 4 months. After the final round, scores will be compiled, and the club with the highest total points will be crowned the overall winner of the season. The final standings, along with the total points and membership awards for the top 3 individual performers, will be published on the Balkan League blog, ensuring every season's achievements are celebrated.
