Chess.com Community Broadcast Rules

So you want to do a watch party for a Chess.com stream? Great, we love to see it! However, there are some rules we have to abide by to make sure everything goes smoothly. This post will take you through those rules, and give you all the info you need to plan your watch party. We've broken up our rules into two separate policies, based on the type of the event you'd like to cover.

Chess.com Original Events

Such as:

  • The Speed Chess Championship family of events
  • Titled Tuesday
  • Winner Stays
  • Rapid Chess Championship
  • Chess.com Global Championship
  • Arena Kings
  • PRO Chess League
  • Other Chess.com original events, where Chess.com is the sole organizer

An individual may co-stream any Chess.com original content, provided you follow these guidelines:

  • In your stream title, mention the name of the event and make it clear that you are conducting a "watch party"
  • Follow the terms of service of your respective streaming platform
  • Commercial broadcast entities (linear & digital) are not eligible to use any Chess.com feed as part of their own unique broadcast
  • You may not sell sponsorship of your co-stream to brands or individuals

Other Events

Such as:

  • FIDE World Championship
  • FIDE Candidates
  • Fischer Random World Championship
  • Grand Chess Tour events
  • Tata Steel
  • Olympiad
  • Other events not exclusively organized by Chess.com

Co-streaming is not allowed for events in which Chess.com is not the exclusive organizer. Chess.com may be a sponsor of an event, but that doesn't guarantee Chess.com is also the exclusive organizer.
Co-streaming such an event without permission from the organizers means you may be at risk of violating your platform's terms of service concerning copyright, and/or having legal actions taken against you by the event's organizers.

If you are unsure if a specific event can be co-streamed, you can contact
