Changes to Chessable and Chessable PRO

Effective January 2, 2025, we’re making two changes to our offerings on Chessable. 

Here’s what’s new: 

1. Chessable PRO’s discount now stacks with other discounts 

You probably already know that PRO members already get an automatic 20% discount on any Chessable course. But until now, any larger sale discount would override that 20% discount.

Now, those discounts stack on top of each other. 

This means that the 20, 30, and even 40 percent discounts you’re seeing in our New Year’s Sale are added to the 20% PRO discount…meaning PRO members can get up to 60% off select courses. 

Please note that the total discount on PRO prices may not show in the shop or course details page - but rest assured that at checkout, you will see your additional 20% applied on top of the sale discount for ALL courses.

We’re excited to hold more campaigns throughout the year in which members can take advantage of big discounts that have traditionally only been available around Black Friday.

2. Short & Sweet courses and sample lessons are now PRO exclusive 

Chessable has hundreds of Short & Sweet courses and sample lessons that let you try out a new opening, learn a new strategic concept, or simply learn a couple of theoretical endgames. They’re a great way to learn some basics without committing to a full course. 

But these ‘short’ courses still hold 400+ hours of video walkthrough and 21,000+ trainable variations. Quite frankly, it’s a lot we’ve been giving away for free! Going forward, unlimited access to all of this content will be available with a Chessable PRO membership.

You can still try any paid course for free with our 30-day money back guarantee - no questions asked. We’re also developing new features in which members can try our courses at no cost - so you can still try out Chessable courses with no commitment.

We also want to emphasize that members who have purchased a course or membership will not lose access to any of the free courses they took before these changes - and can continue to use them forever. And non-paying members can regain access to their courses by purchasing any course or a PRO membership.

We realize this is a big change for a lot of members who made regular use of our Short & Sweet and free courses. Which is why we have a surprise third bit of news to tell you:

3. We’re gifting any paying member 3 FREE months of Chessable PRO

We understand that many of our members regularly make use of our Short & Sweet courses and other sample lessons, and this change might be hard for them. 

So, we’re gifting 3 months of PRO to any member who has paid for a course or PRO subscription. If you purchased a PRO membership or paid Chessable course at any time, we’re automatically adding 3 months of Chessable PRO to your membership (if for some reason you do not receive your extra 3 months of PRO in the next few days, please make sure you contact customer support at [email protected]. However, the vast majority of eligible members should already have received it).
