My 2023 Year In Review

Hey Chess Friends,

We're approaching the end of another year and it's been an eventful one. My biggest chess accomplishment of the year was the publication of my Chessable course, Starting Out The Trompowsky. It's currently on sale and comes with a fully guaranteed 30-day money-back guarantee. Please check it out!

In part thanks to my work on the course, I hit new highs in blitz and bullet this year. I thought I'd share a few highlights.

This was a fun last-minute addition to the Tromp course.

Another favorite Tromp trick in action.

One more Tromp miniature...

This was a contender for my favorite game of the year. I landed several nice sacrifices against a strong friend, as I was helping to prepare him for a tournament.

OK. Enough with the Trompowsky!

Deepest Prep

Have you ever prepared a new queen sacrifice? An opponent kept playing the same line against me, and let me get in my best novelty to date, giving away a queen on move 22.

OK, but did you ever play with Black?

Checking things off the bucket list.

Underpromotion mates are always nice.

Biggest swindle.

After writing a book about turning around bad positions, this was a very pleasant way to end a game.

Wishing all of you some great chess in 2024. Does anyone have any good New Year's resolutions?
