Pawns as the Soul of Chess
Dear Chess Friends!
Our previous educational event was devoted to planning in closed positions. I’m sure you learned a lot and won’t struggle with plans in positions with closed pawn center anymore.
Did you realize how much pawn locations mean for planning? Chess players say that pawns are the soul of chess having in mind that pawn locations affect typical plans a lot. When there are no pawns in the center, you should activate pieces. When there is a white pawn on e5 (or black pawn on e4), you may start a kingside attack, and so on. There are a lot of such indications of what you should do depending on how pawns are located and if they are mobile or immobilized.
I would like to explain this at my next Mastermind that I named “Pawns as the Soul of Chess”. And I’m glad to invite you there.
The mastermind starts on Sunday (30th of October) at 11 a.m. (EDT), 3 p.m. (GMT), 6 p.m. (Moscow time). Your participation is absolutely free, you just need to register here: https://chesslance.com/masterclass/
On the Mastermind, you will learn:
- How to setup your pawns to initiate a kingside attack
- Which flank to play on depending on your pawn structure
- How exactly to advance pawns when you have space advantage
- and many other helpful tips that will help you to come up with a proper plan
See you at the webinar,
