95% Accuracy In Bullet Games???
Hello, Chess.com friends!
For today's post, I'll share with you two games I played today on Chess.com, where I achieved a 95+% CAPS (engine accuracy) score in bullet games against a nearly 2500-rated opponent!
While I don't work on my own game anymore and am not trying to improve my chess in 2025, it still felt great to play some of the best chess I've shown in a long time (of the 26 games I played against this opponent, I had an accuracy score of 90-94.9% in 7 of the other games, and many of the remaining games were still 85%+).
Before I share with you the 'secret' to this improvement, here's the YouTube video of me explaining the thought process that led to a 95+% accuracy score in two of the games:
In the last few days, much like you, I was thinking about what I wanted to achieve in 2025. After failing to achieve most of my goals for a few years in a row, I knew that something had to change.
Instead of focusing on set results, my focus shifted to more of an identity-based approach - constantly asking myself, 'what habits would a world-class player adopt?' and then reverse engineering my routine and habits from there.
A big shift for me was cutting out all junk food, and also getting most of my carbohydrates from vegetables, rather than a lot of rice, noodles and processed foods like I used to. I also roughly halved the portions I was having before. Not that I am a dietician by any means, and a much larger sample size is needed to prove this wasn't a one-off occurrence. But that's the one substantial difference between this playing session and the 30 sessions preceding it.
As a bonus, here are the annotations of both games from the video:
