The Old Tricks #2: Gelfand vs Kramnik, Some Largely Unnoticed Tactics

This position occurred in a game between two top grandmasters at the 1996 Novgorod super tournament. A very strong move for White was missed, apparently, by not only both adversaries but by Gelfand & Khuzman in their Informator comments. And until now the omission continues to appear in the chess literature.
