My 2024 Year In Review Quiz

Happy holidays chess friends!

For a few years now I've had an annual look back on my personal year in chess. These days, it's nearly always bullet and blitz, although I did at least play a couple of in-person blitz events this year. I even played an event that Magnus played, although I missed him a by a couple of boards.

It was a good year for my online play. I cracked 2900 in bullet, which wasn't a goal for long because I didn't really think it was possible. My blitz peak isn't quite there yet, but it's getting close.

I'll have to thank NM Todd Bryant for the inspiration.

No one just wants to click through a bunch of my blitz games, so I'll just share a few highlights in puzzle form. Can you solve them?

This next one is a bit harder to spot.

The next one was opening prep that I'd been hoping to use for months. It helped me get the rare 100% games score and became  Chess.com Daily Puzzle.

We will stick with the Italian Game and find another trick.

This next one is more of a swindle.

But do you ever win games with White?

I hope you enjoyed these tactical highlights. Were you able to solve them?

What are your goals for the upcoming year?

Have a great 2025!
