In the sixth round of the FIDE World Chess Championship 2023, Ding Liren (White) and Ian Nepomniachtchi (Black) faced off in a game that featured the London System. Ian went for an aggressive approach with c5, but Ding was able to control the board with a solid position. The exchange of bishops and subsequent pawn structure led to a position with a slight advantage for Ding. Ding shut down Ian's queenside play with a4 and controlled both sides of the board. Ian struggled with a passive position and made a mistake with e5, which allowed Ding to capitalize and eventually win the game.
