This is a chess game between Ding Liren and Ian Nepomniachtchi, played on April 13th, 2023, in the fourth round of the FIDE World Chess Championship 2023. Ding played the English System, and Ian responded with the e5 pawn push. Ding built a massive pawn center, while Ian looked for opportunities to play g5 and expand on the kingside. After a few exchanges, Ding gained a small advantage and kept improving his pieces while Ian struggled to keep up. However, Ding made a small slip-up with 13. Bd3, and Ian had a chance to create a fortress in the center with 23... f6. Ding played strongly with the doubled pawn to attack, but Ian made a critical mistake with 28... Nd4, which led to a significant advantage for Ding.
