The thirteenth game of the FIDE World Chess Championship 2023 between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren. The game began with the Ruy Lopez opening and saw both players making standard moves until move 10, when Nepomniachtchi played a new move, Be3. After move 14, Nepomniachtchi had a small positional advantage, but Ding had his chances. A mistake by Nepomniachtchi on move 18 gave Ding a clear advantage, but he missed his opportunity to win the game. Instead, the game continued with some inaccuracies from both players, and Ding sacrificed an exchange on move 25 to get a bishop and pawn for a rook imbalance, but the position slightly favored Nepomniachtchi.
