Bronstein's game has an interesting story. In the 1960 Mar del Plata Tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Bronstein was due to play Bernardo Wexler, one of the local Masters. In a friendly conversation before the game with the Soviet Ambassador to Argentina, N. Alexeev, Bronstein promised that he would try to win the game with a Queen sacrifice...... and he did!

Many years later, when they met in Moscow, Alexeev would always ask, "David, just how did that miracle happen?" Bronstein mentions that Alexeev was a lover of the game of chess.

One interesting note is that Bronstein did not usually play this opening!

Now, Geller's game is a prime example why he is considered the greatest virtuoso in the King's Indian Defense. A study of Geller's games is paramount to anyone who wishes to play this opening well.
