My amazing thesis hook used in a college end-of-course reflection:

My family used to own two fat cats. Unfortunately, they both are not with us anymore. Occasionally, they are brought to my mind. When this happens, I always reflect over all the memories I shared with them and all the changes they went through. The fatter one, named Batman, endured a hip injury and sported multiple buzz/lion cuts throughout his life. The not as fat one, Robin, became one-eared after one christmas due to his christmas tree allergy and then subsequently became no-eared the following christmas owing to the same factor. Throughout the lives of both of these fat cats many things changed but one thing remained the same, their fatness. Through thick and thin, they were always thick but not thin. In my life, I also have gone through many changes and encountered many challenges. But just as the fat on the aforementioned fat cats, I hope that there may be one thing that stays steady and strong throughout my life. That one thing, in actuality, is not a thing but a Person. His name is Jesus. My instrument training has further highlighted the importance of this. Throughout my lengthy training I faced many challenges including heavy workloads, work/school balance, a severe leg injury, bad weather, low plane availability, and faulty aircraft. These challenges showed me that I am not tough. I am not perfect. I’m not the best pilot around. I’m not the best student. I’m not the best anything. I could not have made it through this training on my own. There was only one way that I was able to take to my training completion. And that “way” starts with a capital W. John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, “I am the Way.” Jesus is not only THE Way. He is My Way. I would not have made it through my training without Him. I dedicate my completed training and my future training to Him. Here’s to Jesus being the fat to my fat cat!

For those who want to know want my user name means:

  • Chr0mePl8ed - Pretty Straight forward, that object is plated with chrome.
  • St0vePipe - Stove pipe is meant to be an exhaust

Put those together and you get a jet.

I got it from a widely known saying of a pilot talking to ATC:

This is chrome-plated stove pipe triple-nickel eight ball, angels 8,  five in the slot, boots on and laced, and I want your go to bounce and blow
