Chess is a game, all of you will lose to someone in chess. When you win, or lose, you still shake the other persons hand that you played as a sign of respect.

It does not mean that you are better or smarter than the other person. When you win you need to be kind and not rub it in the other persons face. You need to win with grace. On the other side of that, if you lose you need to lose with grace and not get upset.

Just last year the best Chess player in the world lost to a 10 year old. After losing Magnus Carlsen did not cry or complain, he got up and shook the opponents hand and left.
