The Chess Program at the Miami Lakes Educational Center is unique and interactive for those who enjoy the cognitive challenge. Our program is meant to enhance critical thinking, strategic planning, and flexibility in this regard, which is perfect for students at any level. Our chess program provides an opportunity for development through systematic lessons, competitive matches, or social activities for both the inexperienced participant and the advanced player. We emphasize increasing knowledge about chess in our students, while building problem-solving abilities, patience, and swift decision-making capabilities that will better equip them both inside and outside the boundaries of the chessboard.
