My mini brilliancy

Hi Everyone,

I'm no master (my rating is about 1400), but I thought I might post one of my better games!

This game was played just yesterday, and I started with the KIA (A rarity for me!), and my opponent kept making kind of stupid moves (I shouldn't say that because I make my fair share!), and I finally got sick of it, sacraficed a piece and checkmated in 20 moves. Here it is: Any comments or questions are welcome:

d3 is the usual move to prepare for an e4 move.  The King's Indian Attack involves a fianchetto at the King side--so I guess it's not KIA (correct me if I'm wrong)...  Maybe your opponent is a child.

I'll just correct the opening of your game, your opening is considered to be Queen's Pawn Game (ECO: D02) not the ussual KIA opening. King's Indian Attack (KIA) is 1.Nf3 d5 2.g3. In your game you only start with Nf3 but not end-up with varation for KIA. The position for KIA should be like this in the diagram.

Ok thanks.

Was my knight sacrafice necessary??

16. Nb5 (knight sacrifice) was necessary in my opinion because it exposes the king in no time...  Benedic's comment is informative.  For a KIA example (Fischer's pet opening in years past), see blog.chess.com/Charlie91/kia-pride.
