Since diving into chess in early 2021, I've been captivated by its intricacies, initially drawn in by an abundance of instructional content on YouTube, with GothamChess as my starting point. Progressing from a novice to surpassing 1000 elo and steadily climbing to 1500, I've hit multiple plateaus on my journey to 2000. I aspire to reach 2000 elo by the end of 2024. Chess has become more than a game; it mirrors life, connecting me with diverse individuals through the university chess society, where I've formed friendships with a GM and a WFM. Fuelled by a competitive spirit, I've triumphed in matches against high-level players, even holding positions of responsibility within the society, orchestrating successful events to promote chess and fostering its community. My journey has taught me that in chess, as in life, patience and embracing the learning process, regardless of wins or losses, are key to improvement and enjoyment.
