Why are the chess.com Swiss formats so bad?

I'm rated 250 blitz and am matched up against 1500, 1100, and 900. There were many players below 400 and even 300, but instead it's better to match me up against players 6x my rating? I don't understand the logic behind this.

Swiss style events have very specific pairing rules. Low rated players are unlikely to get paired neat their rating until the final rounds of an event. That's just the way Swiss events work, even over the board.
