To be a great Chess player, I believe it must be as one's religion/philosophy. A way of life. Your Ethos.

Was originally shown how to play around middle school age by an old friend. Then I started getting more serious, playing over the board tournaments on and off since high-school. My first inspirations came from studying the immortal Paul Morphy and Adolph Anderssen's games from the Romantic Era of Chess (1800s).  An infatuation with sacrifices and gambits began to take hold. Later I grew to love going over games by Mikhail Tal, Rashid G. Nezhmetdinov, and the awesome Bobby Fischer. Typically, a lot stronger at classical time controls, and yet still improving at the more superficial blitz aspect of the game; only recently rediscovering this blitz.png blitz blitz.png addiction and its many ups and downs.
