Oh, you are in the app.

The interface on the board does not show that.

Thanks.

I haven't set up the WiFi yet since my SSID is hidden and manual entry isn't supported

I am on the same update as you...

1.1.0
0.1.1
0.2.7

When I click Chess.com on the board interface, it tells me to login using the app. When I type my username and password in, the screen basically just reloads without actually logging me in.

Just had a firmware update on my ChessUp2 this morning and can no longer log in to Chess.com? Anyone else have this problem?

What firmware are you on now?

I am on

Main: 1.1.0

Touch: 0.1.1

BB: 0.2.7

It updated yesterday to that. I can still login and play chesscom.

@Martin_Stahl - you should be able to unhide your SSID, connect, then hide your SSID again.
It just needs it the one tine and it should remember it.

Yeah, I know, just haven't cared to do it yet , Wish the system supported entering one though.

One of my white rooks is being recognized as a queen. Needless to say I am unable to use the board. I emailed the 'info' email address yesterday but have not heard back. Anything else I should do? Thanks.

Very sorry for the bad piece - we are sending out replacements Monday for everyone affected.
I am going through the emails now.

May have to go to settings->Sign out of Chess.com
And then do the sign in routine again.
Should fix it - if not, let us know

The firmware on the board will need to be updated, so if you can hotspot a mobile device or something temporarily, it will update.
Hidden SSID entry is currently not supported, but it will remember the WiFi if set up once and then re-hide SSID.

I did a firmware update through the app

Another Question

Accordingtobw (this thread's OP) and I, were trying to start a rapid game via chess.com on the board. We could each make a challenge on the board by selecting "Play a friend", however no challenge arrived on the other persons board that could be accepted.

It would be great to be able to play others with chessup2 boards as it removes the time disadvantage of having to move both sets of pieces. It would also just be really cool from a chess community point of view.

Is there a way to challenge and accept challenges on the chessup2 board? just seems like a bug

We are waiting on some API extensions - known issue and will release as soon as possible.

Reinstalled the app and it works

My board worked fine yesterday (just received it). But this morning it isn't recognizing any of the pieces. Think it needs to be replaced? I send an email to support.

A few bad pieces in the wild - very sorry for the issue - we are sending replacements ASAP for those that were affected.

If it was working fine for the customer yesterday...but not today. Do you really think the pieces went 'bad' all of a sudden???

Board arrived Thursday (Dec 12). It's even nicer to play than the videos show happy.png. Touch screen is pleasantly responsive and very intuitive. Piece recognition is fluid and a pleasure to play. My spare white queen does not register but the black spare queen is fine (email sent to support and waiting reply).
I've been playing the chess.com bots and the onboard computer. The experience of both is great. It's crashed twice out mid game (after my move the bot wouldn't send next move). I'm sure this will get fixed through time, not at all a deal breaker!
I did find a bug in "Board Editor", funny quirk with one puzzle I set up (email sent too).
As I've only played chess.com bots and not another person on chess.com, it doesn't save my games for analysis. Has anybody got this to work? Chess.com knows I beat a bot as when I look on the site I get the crown for bots I've only beaten on the Chessup 2, but the game itself is not there for analysis. Hoping this gets solved as it's an important feature for me.

Also, is there a way to flip the screen back to white after having played black? I guess starting a game against the onboard computer as white would work (as does turning it off and back on), but a button would be nice.

Overall I'm stoked about the board. It has a couple of small glitches that have not been more than a tiny annoyance (it's new and easily fixable with an update). Only the dead spare queen (at least I can play happy.png).

I've got to say, starting a chess.com game only to have to flip the board is a pain.....think I'm going to get a small form 'lazy susan' to make it easier.

rudivanhest

So, after the initial happiness I have to say that the board is glitching. Two rated rapid games got stuck: the time of my opponent kept running down without a move. When I checked the Chess.com website in game 1, I already aborted the game (which I didn't do) and in game 2 my opponent already moved, whch didn't show on the board.

Anyone had this issue? Or solutions?

Thanks,

Rudi

I was thinking felt feet instead of rubber to spin it easier. 25mm/1" diameter, should be cheap at a hardware store...

Bot games on the site do not get saved by default and require a manual save or a Game Review.

Probably will take work by both ChessUp and the site to make that possible
