Chessconnect: a free chrome extension for electronic chessboards

Is there an updated changelog somewhere? Lost track of all the minor updates since 3.5 - once again thanks for this fantastic app.

I tried the B-version. When you start a new game with the bots, you still have to connect again.

@Ceeffee29: Which operating system are you using? Which board? Which website? And is this USB or Bluetooth?

4.3.21beta is out. @OutOfCheese and @Ceeffee29, can you please check, if this solves your connection problem?

Plus this version now has a "Connect" button in lichess zen mode.

Someone reported that automatic reconnect is not working with Kiwi/Android. I looked into this and it turns out to be a known bug in Kiwi. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do. We will have to live with this until it is fixed in Kiwi.

Maybe I can squeeze in a few games later today, otherwise I'll do it tomorrow.

Hello Jörn - could this be why when I accept a direct challenge on the other site (using and Android tablet and Kiwi) it does not even show me the "Connect" button"?

Just had that happen Thursday evening but have not been able to retest it yet.

Hi, @Rsava! No, that must have been something else. If you can recreate the problem, a console log would be helpful.

Unfortunately, 4.3.21beta had a problem with the connect button in lichess. This is now fixed with 4.3.23beta. (Don't ask, what happend to 4.3.22...)

Same setup as I had before, chessconnect 4.3.23

Still disconnects at every new page but now at least the connect button on /play and /play/online pages on chess.com produces a popup where I can reconnect to the board.

The board seems less responsive though, there's between 2-5 seconds lag between moving and the move appearing on board/on screen respectively, so opponent moves take a few secs to show up on board and when I move it takes a few secs to update on screen. The green LEDs have the same lag. I played a game through chessnuts app afterwards and it didn't have that problem (instantaneous moves without lag). I have the default 250ms latency in chessconnect.

Ah, and where can I see the debug messages? I started Chrome from terminal and I can only see Chrome messages there, can't find logs in the extension.

I see, I don't get a red button (probably no grave errors then) so I'll do the dev mode stuff the next time. Are the debug messages only failures/errors or do they also give status messages (like eg "connecting successful", "searching for board" or "playing audio")?
