Yes it works in Edge. However when it disconnects then pressing 'connect' doesn't seem to work.
Chessconnect: a free chrome extension for electronic chessboards
I had a similar problem 9 days ago (post #1060) but on Linux and with Chrome. The only thing that resolved it was letting the "search/connecting" time out and connect from scratch.
Have you tried using Chrome to see if there's a difference?
Yes it works in Edge. However when it disconnects then pressing 'connect' doesn't seem to work.
Have you tried turning the debug messages on in Chessconnect options? When you press "connect", does it open the pairing dialog? If not, you almost certainly will see a debug message.
I'd also be willing to test (not looking for a "free sample" I'm willing to pay as long as the money goes towards a final product in the end).
A few seconds time difference isn't a big deal to me, I think bullet/sub 3 min blitz aren't good formats for eBoards anyways. Since the ultimate time control is on the CC server I assume we almost never get to see the actual time anyways.
I have some electronics soldering experience so I'd be able to fiddle with an earlier prototype.
No soldering needed. The module will connect to the TapNset-Pro clock and the PC using Bluetooth or a USB connection.
Hmm, the TapNset Pro seems kinda hard to get in Europe, no results in German, English or French (well there's a stale result on Amazon Germany, not available).
Of course importing is possible but that'll add a lot of needless cost on top of the price.
I am happy to announce that Chessconnect has crossed the 2000 users mark!
Many thanks to all of you who made this possible!
Currently, I am working on getting Chees960 to work properly. What I thought was going to be an easy exercise turned out to be a major endavour. Most of the boards are ok now. Some, like for isntance the ChessUp, need some extra care. But we will get there.
First of all: Thank you so much for your work! I recently got a Chessnut Air and love playing with it at chess.com.
But I need help with the pawn promotion. How can I promote a pawn only using the Chessnut Air with Chessconnect at chess.com?
What's your problem? Move the pawn to the 8th (1st resp.) rank then exchange it to the desired piece.
Eg move white pawn to c8, take the pawn off the board, place a pony on c8 - you've done it!
I had problems promoting a pawn during a bot match. I moved my pawn to the 8th rank, lifted it off and placed a queen. The move wasn´t recogniced. Only after clicking "Connect" again.
Oh then you did the right thing only you were diconnected during the move. While I personally experience disconnects with chessconnect I only have them when I navigate the chess.com website, never during an actual game, be it bot or hooman.
I bet joern would be interested in your logs (if you can reproduce it reliably)
The "official" way of promotion on a Chessnut board ist to lift the pawn and then put the promoted piece (eg a queen) onto the destination field. If the promotion is with capture than lift the captured piece first. But that is all not really that critical.
@Onolz: if you can reproduce your problem, I would be really happy to hear, how.
Thank you for your help! I just tried to reproduce the problem twice and the problem no longer occurred. I could promote pawns without problems.

Not available in Europe
importing clock+module together with shipping, tax and fees would roughly put this at just over 200€...
FINALLY! 4.4beta is out!
This brings full support for Chess960 to most of the boards (including the ChessUp!). Unfortunately, I could not get the Millennium eOne to work (yet). But I am in contact with Millennium about this. So, maybe we will still find a way.
Plus, for boards without full piece recognition (e.g. Tabutronic Sentio or DGT Pegasus) there is a new way for promoting pawns that does not require interaction with the browser.
And I have added a new section to the web page where I describe the best ways to perform moves like castling or promotion in these scenarios. It's probably worth a look even if you only want to play regular chess on a board with full piece recognition.
Thanks outofcheese.
