That's true, you have to look at a screen anyways to start a game and from time to time to check the clock, I wrote in the chessup thread I hope they put the chessup "clock mode" into general chess.com so other board users can access it as well. Though I'm the type to get a physical e-clock to play once there's good options, it'd just be my preference.
Chessnut GO - Travel E-board
First day discovered "chessvision" system works for the "Go", via new app with that new option.
As one scrolls through news articles or puzzles, same-colored ( even simpler ) dots lighten up at different places... ( non-dotted means pieces remain as-is )
That are markers for setting up positions.
I also have the chessvision extension and app installed on android but I can't see where you would get it to connect to the Chessnut board.
Follow this exact steps. You will first install their newer app "Chessnut Android", not the old "Chessnut". If you already have newer app, uninstall it and install fresh one from the "playstore" (make sure you are not the part of their "beta" program because that's unstable and made just for developers/experimentators.
Next, upon opening the app, when entering the option "online play", under the "chess.com" logo, in the lower left, you'll see it reads "chessvision". Click in this.
Now you are in the mobile-friendly version of the chess.com site. Now you can open any article where are any boards in that articles.
Please be mindful that your board is connected to the bluetooth all the time even before the start of this whole proces.
Now you slowly begin to scroll the page.
The first board image you see in the news article (daily puzzle or any board)...
Green dots on different positions will start to lighten up. Squares where are not any dots mean you should leave the pieces on that places to match the image of the board from the screen.
For now it's just for two main sites (I suppose).

Unfortunately Chessnut named their software chessvision.
Chessnut ChessVision is not the Chessvision.ai Browser Extension that gets installed in Chrome, Firefox and other Browsers.
Just to be clear, the Chessnut ChessVision software that works with their boards is built into their software like the Chessnut Android App.
You don't need to install Chessnut ChessVision as an extension.
There is no "Chessvision extension" for mobile browser. Neither any extension for that matter. Browser extensions are just for desktops.
If someone managed to install chrome extension on mobile phone, it's highly unlikely.
EDIT: This one will rock: Iternal board's memory has the capacity for 4096 games (PGNs) - 8MB. Of course, after overflow, as stated in the manual, yellow LED will start flashing - space is full.

Actually, the Kiwi Browser on Android supports desktop Chrome extension. Including Chessconnect.

Thank you Sir! Very professional, informative and well-mannered videos! Sub and like. This info is of the extreme value.
It would be really "mind-blowing" if there would be a way for the "Chessnut's" "Chessvision" ( not to mix up with less-known "Chessvision.ai" ), to work not just with "Chess.com" and "Lichess" but with any material - for example, we open chess e-book (pdf, epub, etc..) and eboard upon catching up that on the phone's screen that there's some kind of the chess diagram, instantly lights up appropriate squares for the quick set-up of the position on the board, as was the case limited just for the two most popular chess sites until now?
Best regards
The chessnut Evo does just that. You can set up anything on its screen (open anything on a browser that you have to install with an apk, as sadly there is no app store) and get the moves in. Sorry for the confusion with chessvision.ai that I happened to install on my phone on Kiwi, still it doesn't work on mobile...
It's good that the latest chessnut software is improving, it was clearly very clunky for a long while...almost unusable.

Thank you for the response!!... If The "Evo's" chessvision could read diagrams just from web pages, really good but... if it could read diagrams from everywhere ( including e-books ), then it's game changer.

Yes, that's the probable reason why "Chessconect" was revolutionary at the moment...
Could chess tournaments be played via phone by the newest "Chessnut" app version?
For ebooks you can usually access them from a browser (ie there is a forward chess app that installs I think but it works better through the forward chess browser reader), I suppose a pdf reader would work although I haven't tried. If only they could get the app store to work it would be perfect, as for now you have to go through apks and there is instability and problems with updates sometimes (I usually don't dare to update and risk breaking something.)
"Evo" is good (I suppose), for people not bothered by sitting at their working desk and second, car always ready. Or one being completely retired, then it's a fantasy.
Hi, I have some questions about Chessnut Go.
1. Can I play as logged (not just as guest) on Lichess/Chess.com?
2. Is it possibile to access to battery to replace it? Are there some screws to remove?
3. Is there a delay to compensate for the movement of the opponent's piece?

1. Yes, I play logged in all the time. i used the Chessconnect extension but when I use the app I am also logged in to my Lichess acct.
2. Not that i can tell. There might be screws under the little rubber feet, but honestly by the time the battery wears out there will likely be better technology, and the Go (and all my other e-boards) will have been replaced. I couldn't understand the big deal about a replaceable battery for the Evo, the battery was rated for 3-4 years of charge cycles if you charged it every other day.
3. No, there is not. You should always play with increment when using an e-board to compensate for having to move the opponents' pieces. Some say 5sec, I do 10 - 15 sec minimum.
Is there any reason to get Chessnut over chessup?
Chessnut can be used with programs on Windows (and some Linux distros) via USB and BluetoothLE: Fritz, ChessBase, LucasChess, Shredder, SCIDvsPC, Arena, Chessmaster, Winboard,....
Greetings,
I utilize the latest LucasChess on my Linux box (Fedora 41) with the USB cable connected to a Chessnut GO - works great. I am still trying to get the board to work with SCID, but not a big issue. Unfortunately, I cannot get over the toy look of the Chessup devices, and the fact that they do nothing better (for me) than the Chessnut and Millennium offerings.
Cheers
I can't believe they put a screen on the chessup 2, the very thing a lot of eboard players are trying to get away from.
It is just for starting games. You have to look at a screen to start an online game no matter what, this just puts it all in one device, like the Chessnut Evo.
Having used the Evo for a while, you do not really look at the screen while playing.
