I got the Pegasus late last night and set it up this morning.  I did the calibration first, as recommended by DGT.  I then used my iPhone to download the DGT app and linked it to my Lichess account. Hopefully the Chess.com update comes soon.

I played two games on Lichess and it worked well.  The system paired with my Pegasus quickly and I got a game within seconds.  The game went very smooth (although I lost. lol) I then played another game (and won) and, again, it went very smooth.  The only thing that kind of bothered me was that when I won (he resigned) all I head was a small beep and then the game just stopped.  No indication that I could see that he resigned.  At first I thought it was a glitch but then realized what happened.  I like the way the SOP shows a win better.

I like that it is easily transportable, even with all the pieces set up on it.  The size doesn't bother me, per se, but I do like the bigger pieces/weight on my SOP better.  I prefer the lighted circles better than the two led lights per square on the SOP.  I also REALLY like that it easier to turn the board around if necessary to play the opposite color.  I have a table set up for my SOP so I just have to switch seats.  The Pegasus, in this regard, is much better.

The Pegasus charged quickly, and the battery indicator is better than on the SOP.  But, after the first game it was already down to 71%.  Not sure why that is.  I will have to keep my eye on that.

In the end I like them both and will keep them both.

@lasertswift - similar experience with mine, which arrived yesterday as well.

I played 1 game on Lichess last night (also lost) and had no issues. I even found I could use my "Fierce Knight" set instead of the regular pieces, a big win for me. I did not have to modify the pieces in any way, not sure why they work but I am not really concerned as long as the do.

One small issue I had was not being able to "chat" in the DGT app. I could not say good luck at the beginning or good game at the end. Could you see a way to do that?

As for the piece size, I much prefer the full size of the SOP, but being able to use a real wood set on the Pegasus helps. For my SOP setup I have a large chess board that the fits near perfectly on and that sits on a piece from a lazy Susan so I can swivel the board to the other side when I start a game. Been doing that for a long time (I have used a board to make y moves for a few years now).

Overall, I like both of the boards and I hope I like the Millenium eOne that I just ordered as well as the Chessnut Air I ordered as much ...

How do I play against the computer or a custom unrated game on chess.com? I don't see the option to use my connected board when selecting one of the computer players. Kinda disappointed because I want to play the computer for practice.

To my knowledge, only Lichess has online AI you can play against, at the moment. Though you can play AI on other apps like Chess Dojo (small fee for extra bots), and White Pawn. There may be others, but those are the ones I know of off the top of my head. You can also connect it to your PC to play engines on various programs like Arena and LucasChess.

I have read all the posts in this thread an unfortunately got now answer to the following questions:

1) is it possible to participate in tournaments using SOP and Pegasus on Lichess and Chess.com? (not using SOP I suppose)

2) is the choice of playing times restricted by SOP or Pegasus or I can freely choose 5+2 or 7+3 for example? (Not in SOP I presume)

3) is it possible to use the board for going through the games saved in any pgn file?

Thank you for the feedback.

Strangely enough, I have not heard of anyone mention the compatibility of the latest electronic boards to work with Chessbase or anyone's favorite GUI (Arena, Aquarium, etc). Everyone is just all about playing the new hardware on their favorite chess sites the past seven months.

Can we change the battery if it is dead?

TheFifthBusiness

Received my order today. This board is a piece of garbage, it requires multiple calibrations to play one game, after which, you must recalibrate again multiple times. Unusable online as you will lose games due to the board not recognizing your pieces.

Chess pieces appeared to be dirty on arrival. This product is junk and I strongly recommend against purchasing.

Rsava

Sorry you feel that way.

I have the exact opposite feeling about it, I would highly recommend purchasing.

I calibrated when I first got it and have not done so since. I was planning on doing it every time I turned on but decided to see how long before it needed it again but have not needed to yet.

I have played a number of games and not once has it not recognized the pieces. I even have pieces I have modified to work on the board and it recognizes them as well.

The product is not junk, perhaps you should contact the company (DGT) as they are rather reputable company. Maybe you got a defective one. That can happen, even with million dollar pieces of equipment.

Sorry here as well, had mine for 3 wks and love it. Agree with Rsava.

Dirt on pieces (a few black marks on my white guys) can be removed easily, without damage, by a little acetone on the corner of a rag. They clean up nicely!

Agree with Rsava.

TheFifthBusiness where did you buy the Pegasus and did you contact them concerning your problems?

Just an update - In my previous post I had mentioned that my battery was down to 71% after 1 game.  I had to leave for several days and when I got back the Pegasus battery was completely dead even though I had powered it down before leaving.  My SOP had only lost 1%.  That is a big difference!  I am not sure why my Pegasus lost so much batter when powered off.  Has anybody else experienced this?  Hopefully mine is not defective.  I am charging it now and I will see if it happens again.

Rsava - I don't usually chat while playing but I will look to see if there is a way when it finishes charging.

Yes, I did yesterday. Went to play a game last night and the battery was dead, it had been turned off from the night before when I used it for about 20 minutes,

That is a serious problem for a portable board.

How has your SOP faired?  Mine lasts forever between charges.  After many days and many games I am still at 30% battery life.

Rsava

Mine lasts a decent time. I have not used it much recently as I have the Pegasus and the Millennium eOne I am messing with.

I am supposed to have a game tomorrow and I think I will use the SOP. While I like the portability of the smaller boards I love the full size SOP. If the magnets weren't so expensive I would buy another set of Buttahs and modify them for it.

How do you like the eOne?  I am debating getting it.  Any problems with it?  How is the battery life?  How is the UI?

Rsava

So far, I am having some issues with connectivity. Battery life, not sure it just came in Tuesday and have not had a lot of time.

The UI of the apps is so-so. It also works (supposedly, not a lot of luck with it) with Hiarcs and Lucas Chess. Lucas sees the board but not sure what I can do with it yet. I played a game against the computer last night and got my rear-end kicked. Reminded me of that line in Top Gun.

The pieces are a little small, so it will likely not really be an online board for me, more of a study board to do puzzles and such.

Thanks for the feedback.  I think I will hold off on getting it until the connectivity is fixed.

I just charged my Pegasus to 100% and then played one game.  Now the battery is at 66%.  At least I won the game.  lol
