DGT Pegasus?

Horrible luck....hoping it goes quickly and they treat you properly.

I take it then that for other people on this forum these units do basically work?

Someone even said it connects on IOS to White Pawn!!

I think that was me...Yes mine works, there have been some odd moments where I get your "board is invalid" message, but I will sometimes take all pieces off then replace them, which seems to fix it. Or I'll get one piece or two which light up on the app causing the message (for no apparent reason), then I move some around and it will go away. 

OK, so I took some time to fiddle. Once I deleted completely the DGT App I got it working quite nicely in White Pawn.  At first White Pawn was connecting but seeing only 1 x random pawn on the board.  However yet another full reset AND not installing DGT App and it seems happy for now.

Considering the White Pawn app is clearly much much better, no need for the DGT App at all.  Obviously can still only play on Lichess, but this is progress!!!

I am an Apple iOS user so not buying an Android gadget just for this.

DGT has acknowledged that their app sucks and are working towards fixing it, so White Pawn is the best way to go until they revamp their official app.

I was not aware it was "sucks" as in DO NOT USE EVER and also DELETE FROM PHONE or it will bugger up the the Apps that do work!!!  That part is not in the instructions.

My favorite opponent is now the Maia1 bot on lichess.

I just want to reiterate that White Pawn is magnificent. Everything works great. DGT should be paying the app creator for saving their product from being totally unusable.

What he said!!  I would be spitting feathers at this useless junk but they have been saved for now by White Pawn.

How do you play against Maia using Pegasus.

Hello No problem for me the Pegasus works very well I use a Xiaomi and tabs8 Samsung a real pleasure It's a shame that we only have access to opponents and not against the computer I hope there will be an evolution on this subject as with white pawn Bonjour Pas de problème pour moi le Pegasus fonctionne très bien j utilise une Xiaomi et tabs8 Samsung un vrai plaisir C est dommage qu on a accès que sur des adversaires et pas contre l ordinateur j espère qu il y aura une évolution sur ce sujet comme avec white pawn

DGT should upgrade the app and the firmware of DGT Pegasus. There are times a move is not recognized and you have to take back and make the same move again. This problem is not acceptable, I have Certabo board and its move recognition is excellent so far as I can focus on the game without having to worry about move recognition issues.

DGT must provide firmware update to DGT Pegasus to improve move recognition. They should fix the SPECIFIC ORDER WHEN EXECUTING A PIECE CAPTURE, where you have to remove first the piece to be captured and replace it with the capturing piece. If you do the reverse where you first lift the capturing piece and remove the piece to be captured and replace it with the capturing piece then the board has high probability to run into problem of not accepting/recognizing the move. This is what I discovered with my DGT Pegasus. While in my DGT Centaur I have no issues regardless of which order the capture is executed. I HOPE DGT WILL FIX THIS ISSUE THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AS IT SUCKS IN GAMES DURING TIME TROUBLE WHEN YOU FORGOT TO EXECUTE THE CORRECT ORDER OF PIECE CAPTURE THAT THE PEGASUS WILL SURELY ACCEPT. THE DGT PEGASUS SHOULD RELIABLY RECOGNISE THE PIECE CAPTURE MOVE REGARDLESS OF THE ORDER IT WAS EXECUTED. I hope users of Pegasus will give feedback to DGT.

Chess.com devrait faire évoluer  son application   pour les  échiquiers  connectés,  on ne  peut  l utiliser  qu avec  des adversaires en ligne , ce serait bien de pouvoir  l utiliser l échiquier  contre l ordinateur  et pouvoir l utiliser aussi  pour travailler  les ouvertures  ce serait top

Chess.com should evolve its application for connected chess boards, you can only use it with online opponents, it would be nice to be able to use it on the chess board against the computer and to be able to use it also to work openings it would be great

Yeah, you can. You create the challenge in Lichess and it comes up in the dgt app. I’m on iOS and so can’t speak for white prawn or chess.com et al.
