I've ordered the Pegasus and anxiously await it's arrival.  :-)

Did it arrive? Is yours OK?

It did and while I haven't used it much yet due to lack of time, the couple games I've played against the AI have gone really well.  So far, so good!

So far the best board that worked best for me is a dgt bluetooth full size board with the Fide 2013 pieces.

DGT Pegasus gave me so much calibrating issues with the pieces.

The Eone works perfectly but it's so small that my fat fingers like to hit other pieces.

Hey all, it says here https://support.chess.com/article/1257-how-can-i-play-with-a-dgt-board that I can play with my Pegasus through my browser on my PC, as long as it is connected.  I can't figure out how to connect the Pegasus to my MacBook, though. I've tried turning it on and toggling the switch and also plugging the board in to a USB port but every time I try a game it tells me it couldn't connect to my DGT board. Do I have to pair it via Bluetooth or something and if so can anyone help me with how to do that?

JesterKwP

the pegasus only works with your phone,  not with a computer unfortunately.

I kind of figured, especially with this: https://digitalgametechnology.com/faq/pegasus/can-pegasus-be-linked-to-a-computer

BUT, check out the chess.com help article that says you can and specifically with the Pegasus.  https://support.chess.com/article/1257-how-can-i-play-with-a-dgt-board

So confusing!

TBF DGT hasn't claimed that this works, CC did. Perhaps it's a mistake and the Pegasus shouldn't be listed there. I submitted feedback on the help article and will update here if and when I hear back.

No problem  with a chrombook

Isn't the chess.com help page being linked to specific to the mobile app?

Yeah, the price is painful. But I don't imagine buying any other boards and wish I'd just bought it in the first place rather than the Pegasus, EOne, Certabo, and Square Off!

Do you have to press the pieces down with the Millennium?

Graham_NZ

The Pegasus can be linked to a Windows PC and used with Arena, Chessbase, Fritz, LucasChess and Shredder. It uses BluetoothLE so does not need Bluetooth pairing.

Not with the Exclusive or Tournament boards. Or set up the pieces at the start position to recognize them because each individual piece is recognized for what it is regardless of board placement.

Did anybody else get a little disappointed at all the black scuff marks on their white pieces? not great packaging imo.

Yeah. I reached out to them and they sent me replacements... that had the exact same problem

so they replaced your battery and pieces?  lol

No, just the white pieces (that had black scuff marks on them).  The new pieces also had a bunch of scuff marks on them...

I haven't had my battery replaced, but when I went to use it the other day after not using it for a while, it wouldn't turn on.  I had to plug it in, and then the battery showed 100% in the app, but after un-plugging it it went down to about 80% over the next hour or so.  Perhaps that's the expected battery life, I'm not sure.  I plan to bring an external battery anytime I take it somewhere that's not my desk.

I'm on MacOS. While I have access to Windows platforms, it's typically not worth it for me, though I may try this through a VM if there is no other solution offered soon.

It would be great if there were something offered to allow the BluetoothLE boards to be used on a PC on chess.com, for example.

Yeah, I knew this was kind of a gen-1 version of this type of board when I bought it, and these companies are not known for putting our flawless, easy-to-use products.

It would be great if there was a competitor that was putting out rock-solid products with no issues, but it doesn't seem to exist, yet.

It's further complicated by chess.com maintaining such tight control over e-board integration, not allowing them to build it into their own app, and they also seem to have very little motivation to make it a nice, polished experience.
