@cba2607

I fear not, you're better off using Khadim's White Pawn app (but not for PCs). The new DGT Chess app is basically an unfinished work (though the path taken is the right one): 1) against the Lichess engine, I can't get the time shown up during the game (so I don't know the time left); 2) I can't figure out a way to challenge Lichess bots (while you can with White Pawn app).

Hey everyone. Is there a way to challenge a friend with the chess.con android app and still play using the Pegasus? There doesn’t seem to be a way to connect to the board when trying to challenge a friend or the computer. It only seems to work if I challenge a random opponent. Thanks

I found the answer, hopefully this can help someone out. How to connect the Pegasus for playing against a friend: Send the challenge as normal and start the game. Then in the lower left hit the options setting. Then press “continue on connected board”. The game will then be playable on the Pegasus. Unfortunately it seems this setting is missing from when you play against the computer.

That's nice to know. Thanks, mate  wink

I have DGT Pegasus and I'm not able to use it with my laptop and chess.com in the browser. I've tried couple of different browsers and I've enabled the DGT Smart Board setting in Play -> Play -> Settings. Should I also install some software or configure it somehow? Thanks for help.

Selecting "Bluetooth & devices" --> "Add device", is the Pegasus shown ?  Keep in mind the BT chipset needs to support the "smart" protocol (that is, BLE) and you have to switch location services on. Ciao  wink

I'm on windows 11 laptop, the board is paired in terms of bluetooth. I'd like to play with laptop browser instead of smartphone. It works good with android app.

I've managed to install the driver and Arena and I can play there with my board, but I'm still unable to play on chess.com with the browser... I'm getting: DGT: Failed to connect to DGT board. Retry sad.png

Are you trying to play a human or a computer bot? I am not sure you can play a bot yet.

I think the DGT integration in the browser is for the DGT E-Boards and DGT Smart Boards rather than the Pegasus.  I know at one stage you also had to be running the DGT LiveChess software to handle the communication between Chess.com , your browser and the board .

I don't know if its possible to use the Pegasus in this way, but you could try installing and running the LiveChess software also?

@maygic23, if you look at the posts from 484 on this thread. You can play on pc with Pegasus, you need graham's drivers. Good luck.

Was looking for that, I forgot if it was the Pegasus or the Chessnut air that worked with those.

@Rsava, how's the chessnut air going?

Rsava

Ah, so-so. It works well some times, other not so much. I played two games in a row a few weeks ago and it played flawlessly, next game not 30 minutes later and it disconnected and looked like I abandoned the game.

One another way. Following Chrome Extension is working on Windows, to play with DGT Pegasus on chess.com without additional drivers, even vs. bots:

Hey @maygic23, make sure the Pegasus Chrome Extension is properly installed and enabled (turn Developer Mode on). Ciaohappy

P.S. DGT Chess app updated (v2.0.2):https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dgtprojects.dgt_chess_app&hl=enhappy

P.P.S. It does very wellwink

That's exciting and I hope they stick to that timeline.  I've been debating between getting the Pegasus and the Square Off Pro.  What really pushes me towards the Pegasus is its direct integration with Chess.com without having to go through a third party app. With the SOP, having to go through their specific app and only access features programmed within the app is a turn off.  Given the fact that they're already attempting to monetize aspects of the app itself (I think I read that when you play the inbuilt AI, if you want move suggestions from the computer you have to buy gems that cost real money if you run out) I'm definitely skeptical about Square Off's longevity and overall long term monetization strategy.

The square off pro is terrible. Sometimes it randomly disconnects with chess.com and I can't play with my chess.com friends.  Returning it.
