History of American Wooden Chess Pieces

I think the 1904 Cambridge Springs set is probably one of the rarest sets ever.  I have seen one original set close up and held a few pieces. To think each set was played with by the greatest players of the day.  It was a magnificent experience.

Even though this is not an American set but with the Bishop head shape. It does have an American style of Bishop.

Yes.  Much more in Duncan's book.  As mentioned, well worth the price.
