Thank you ever so much.  I got the game as a gift many years ago, but just recently got back into chess. It's an old device but I still come no where near besting it. There was just a whole bunch of stuff that I couldn't figure out.  Now I will be able to.  Thanks again.  I'll look up your rating and see if I can give you a decent game or just perhaps befriend you.

Just a quick follow-up, in case others are looking for the manual:-

The Radio Shack Chess Companion (Version 1), model 60-2439, is the same unit as the Saitek Kasparov Chess Partner 2, and the Saitek Chess Companion.

As of October 2, 2024, the manual is available at https://www.saitek.com/manuals/chess_partner2.pdf .

If it's not there at a future date, just search for the Saitek Kasparov Chess Partner 2 manual, you'll find it on the internet.
