Hi, looks like Staunton 00 (double zero) size to me. Size 3 board should fit (32mm, 1"1/4 squares).
Small Chavet Set?
This is a real Chavet set of size 0. Same advice as @kiwimotard. I also have a set of this size that was delivered to me with a chessboard of 1 1/8 squares (28 mm).
The link you indicate compares sets of different sizes, which makes it very complicated or even counterproductive, since each set depending on its size, has specificities that vary over time. It is therefore normal that they look alike while being different.
Here is an example which is not chronological (mixture 1970-2000), and which starts with size 1 to 10.
Thank you, I'm glad it's real, this is a gift to my daughter who doesn't know how to play completely yet but loves to set up the board and "win" haha! I think 1 or 1 1/8 could work, I'd prefer to find a wooden board and I'm wondering what make I should look into. It seems like Chavet boards are rare in general.
I agree about looking at different sizes, I was unable to find anyone showing a size 0 set and even some doubting they existed!
Chavet made sets and chessboards, but from the 90s onwards they were imported from Spain (Rechapados Ferrer).
Agree with the comments above, looks genuine to me. Let me know if you'd like some photos with a 1.5" Drueke to get a sense of what that board size would look like. I think a 1 1/8" that Walterbiensur mentioned would be perfect (for me) - I think I like my boards a little more 'cramped' than most people on this forum!
I'm going to try a 1" board with it, the pawns look to only be 12 mm in Dia at best, so 4 would fit inside a square! There's a whole thread on sizing here https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/a-system-for-sizing-chess-pieces-and-boards-long which is an interesting read.

What height and base diameter is your set? If it's similar I'd be interested in seeing!
The set is even better than I thought, very high quality! I feel like I stole it at the price I paid. I was lucky it was in the states so shipping was low also. The king's base is more like 22-23 mm not 20, so I probably made a mistake in ordering a 1" square board. One thing about this set is the pawns are quite small in diameter compared to the king. I'll post some pictures when I can take some decent ones. Now I'm going to want a larger set for myself.
Hi,
I just purchased a set advertised as Chavet. After some looking around In not sure it's real. First off it's small, 57 mm tall king, 20 mm base diameter. The wood looks right, as do most of the piece shapes I think. What I'm doubting is the top of the bishops, and some details of the knights (the eyes in particular). I don't have my hands on it yet so I can't get better views.
I haven't found any info on sets this small so far (size 0?). The pieces look similar to a post by @EfimLG47 here https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/minimalist-chess-sets-such-as-chavet-bundesform?page=1 but as I said some differences also. I'm also debating what size squares to get on a board for it, maybe about 1"? Not sure who makes one like that!
