I have this set, all because of those bad ass squared off knights:

I'm hopeful! I love your Macel Duchamp!
I was surprised to be quite taken with the Knights in the Romanian-Hungarian National Tournament Chess Set from Chess Bazaar. I've been eyeing off Knights with really action-packed manes recently... but these kept drawing me back to look. I don't know why:
They are not my favourites... but I found them appealing.
I really like these knights:
I like this knight from @Analog_Player very much, I choose this one over any Staunton knight every day and twice on sunday.

Very fond of the Attica knight from Staunton Castle.
I got one of these sets on the strength of the knight alone (although the rest of the set is also very nice). I've yet to see another knight that I like quite so much in terms of aesthetics (handling is a different matter).

Aye aye! Luckily those have not been cracked.
Yet!
I rather like the Piatigorsky set knights (pic anyone?). Never bought such a set as they are usually on the large size. Now if someone did a version with 3.75'' kings.....

My knights are ok... but both black rooks have cracked, alas. I'd had the set for about a month when I noticed. I emailed Mandeep a week ago but have yet to hear back.

harthacnut,
My favorite knight for handling is this oversized behemoth from the House of Chess.
Compared to a standard Zagreb knight.
Plus, it really fills the hand when playing.

Even though it was well outside my budget I too came this >||< close to buying the Attica set just because of those knights. Just beautiful
Am I the only one who hates the look of those high end more realistic knights with mains etc? I guess I like my knights blocky and more abstract.
My favorite are probably the Chavet ones.
There were a couple knights from old bohemia reproduction that I thought looked unique kinda like a sea monster haha.
Honestly I’ve always liked the basic HOS grandmaster knights and just your basic Lardy knights. What can I say, I’m weird I guess.
As soon as somebody pointed it out to me, I decided I don't like knights with dotted eyes. That 's not a universal rule (Lardy knights are ok) but on a full Staunton style knight like those above it makes the piece look cartoonish and a bit deranged to me.
It does at least help narrow down the sets I'm interested in buying. For instance, all the Jaques sets currently on sale are a non-starter.
That set in general is awesome. I love thick sturdy knights like that. Honestly those fide WC knights everyone hates have been growing on me for that same reason.
The title says it all!
