now castling!if i'm to reach 2600, i have to know how to castle.when i learn it i'll castle as many times as i can in a single game!!  help! anyone!

The castle move is a great move to play in a game. It is a great move that can protect the king. When the king castles, he moves two spaces to the side he is castling on, and the rook moves over and in front of the king. If you castle "king side" (The king's rook) you'll probably be much safer from attacks. If you castle "queen side" (The queen's rook) you'll be less safe, but your rook will be centralized. (In the center, and is more powerful this way.) If you castle to checkmate someone, you'll be rewarded the "Castle Victory" achievement, which is fairly hard to get.

There are some conditions, though. The king MUST not have moved already, and the rook MUST not have moved already. Also, you cannot castle if pieces are in the way. Here are examples of castling:

"O-O" is castling king side, while "O-O-O" is castling queen side. Those are the basics of castling.

Very interested also. I don’t have very high ratings, but I am extremely eager to improve as I absolutely love this game. I have been trying to study the game myself, but I am willing to take any advice and coaching on board in order to improve as much as possible. :-)

Think of PM as military time. 1200 to 2399 is PM. 0 to 1199 is AM.

Would definitely be very interested, I have some games where I pop off with 80+ accuracy and the new system evalues me as above 1k elo , and other games where I play like crap and get evaluated as below 500. I’ve been doing some courses on chessable to help me with opening principles (in place of memorizing theory), finding tricks (skewers, forks, etc), and common endgames, but haven’t seen a lot of improvement. If you could look at some of my past games and give me some advice that’d be very appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi I’m not a beginner. But I am 1000 plus rated and highly highly motivated. I practice and watch videos endlessly and take notes and the like. I’ve gotten my openings down pact but I suffer with the middle game though I study so. I’m willing to put in the work and am happy to do the homework and study as much as possible s please consider.
