The main problem is the currency conversion.

The number at the top (25) is how much you get, and the number at the bottom (869) is how much I have to pay. It's very unfair, with the conversion rates like this.

@marioparty4 How could that escape my attention?... I'll contact Mr. Chan-o-cha and the US government and all the important people around the globe. We're gonna fix those numbers real quick...thanks to thee, the almighty negotiator!

Jokes aside, there are lots of good coaches with lower rates. I hope you find yours.

1600 in 3 years is terrible

It's usually the best to ignore internet trolls like yourself @playonlinesecretly1 as it's like kryptonite for the likes of you. I have done that so far, however, since you've been trying to defame me with false accusations (I and a few other coaches have no idea why you'd do that?) and writing everywhere (particularly under coaching review posts and beginner posts asking for advice) how your own "regimen" helped you improve at chess, I'll say a few things.
First, nobody wrote that they took 3 years of lessons from me and ended up being 750. In the first comment there, he's talking about his former coach (an IM). You should get a "regimen" to improve your reading skills.
Secondly, you do not know me and have never taken any lessons from me. You do not know any of my students well enough to learn about my lessons. Funny how, the student you tagged is a man you literally tried to scam before, insisting that he pay you money simply because you explained something chess related through... MESSAGES? Even though he did not accept to pay you beforehand?... (all documented, and there are other cases too of you harassing people online)
Finally, instead of commenting under all coaching review posts about how you were able to improve your chess all by yourself and claiming coaching is a waste of money, how about you create your own posts to spread your toxicity and to find more victims for your blatant scamming attempts?
*Careful people! This person has been reported many times but could somehow survive on the site. I suggest you ignore them if they contact you.

Yeah right. You may be only 1300 fide strength. You will be 1800 fide strength in the next 10 years.

if you really believe that you are mentally handicapped

Sad to see so much random negativity from one person who is not even a student of Viephi on a thread about how he's a really nice chess coach who does a great job helping people. A post that was started by his students, all of whom have said really positive things. I've personally worked with Viephi for six months, he's an awesome coach and such a nice guy. I don't play on chess.com much but my rating on the site I do play on went up more than 400 points in six months.

I have read all of this many times and I feel like this is what I want to say:

Let's please not call coaches that put much hard work into their lessons and where people seem to clearly be happy, scammers. And let's please also not call people who are high rated and leaving negative concerned comments haters. Just because someones rating hasn't improved much, doesn't mean the lesson was for nothing (it could have been very motivational and psychologically valuable) and just because someone thinks the rating improvement isn't worth the price doesn't make them a hater.

Everybody reading this should form their own opinion about this and decide for themselves what they want to do. Just read all of the text and also look at all of the ratings. And then decide for yourself if you think this is right for you or not. I formed my own opinion about this too, but I don't want to talk about people that I don't know. Only someone who knows the person very well (or maybe a god tongue.png) can judge.

@CheerUpChess-Youtube Although I appreciate your polite comment overall, it seems you misunderstood a few things so let me clarify. There's only one coach under this post and it's me, and nobody called me a scammer. I called @playonlinesecretly1 (who is not chess coach) a scammer not because he spread negativity but because he actually tried to scam people and I have the screenshots of his attempts.

"just because someone thinks the rating improvement isn't worth the price doesn't make them a hater."Of course, but no one called him a hater because of that. He's just saying things that are completely false on purpose, so he's lying and targeting chess coaches. You can see his comments under many other posts like this.

Cheers mate!

@Viephi You are absolutely right. I changed my mind. I completely side with you, after just experiencing myself how some people on here do nothing else in life, but hate on chess coaches all day - in a way, that is not only rude, but completely unjustified and without substance. A guy literally didn't like my video, because he watched 3 seconds of it and I said I know the Caro Kann lol - and that is impossible with my rating grin.png I had to think of my little sister right now, she would say, you know what, just ignore those people. If I would give up on chess coaching and all of that, I would just give them what they want. However starting is hard, I wish I would already have a couple students like you have. Unfortunately only the trolls are active in the forum lol. So actually sorry for trying to be neutral here. You only understand once they jump on you. You are doing valuable work and they are jealous of it. Have to think of the Facebook quote "You don't get to one million friends without a few enemies"

Viephi

@CheerUpChess-Youtube Don't worry man, it seems you're on the right track to find students. It's going to work out as long as you do it well and justly. Don't mind if it takes some time, it's normal. Best wishes!

@Viephi Thank you.

I analyzed his student @GravyTraining games. The game is getting weaker and weaker. I cannot recommend this coach. Just being concerned with your money.

You need to get a hobby. Trying to stalk me after months after your "friend" got banned for harassment and you were under heavy scrutiny is pretty pathetic. Apparently I've lived rent-free in your head for months and I haven't given you a second thought.

I have been taking a break from competitive chess and lessons for the entirety of 2023. I guess your stalking of me didn't catch that. Looks like you didn't take the investigation into your behavior as a sign to stop being a harassing troll. Well, round 2 will likely not go as well for you. Please, I encourage you to post more and give the moderators more fuel to ban you. Please?

All: I am the OP, Viephi is THE MAN, Playonlinesecretly has been banned from this thread, and his/her posts reported for verbal abuse.

I had ten hours of training with Viephi via Skype. What I learned:

  • think twice. Don‘t alway play standard moves, but try to surprise your opponent with an unexpected move. That makes him think and consume time.
  • try to see your opponent‘s plan, and his bad moves. Exploit these to strengthen your position and weaken his.
  • don‘t panic, when your time runs out. Don‘t make hasty and unconsidered moves, that will lead to your defeat. There is nothing to lose but a game.
  • analyze your own games, find your weaknesses and try alternatives.

I would have loved to continue the training. Alas, I still have a fulltime job and my main hobby is music, which takes most of my free time.
