What can I say about Flavia that hasn't already been said?
She is an awesome teacher who is helping me rebuild my game from the ground up. I've been scrabbling about in the dark for the past 20 years and Flavia has come along and put some structure in place, showing me the why of what I am doing.
She is a right laugh, who takes her time explaining the concepts she teaching that day along with plenty of demonstrations.
She also deals really will my girls when they decide to crash the lesson

My 9-year-old daughter and I have been taking joint chess lessons with Flavia, and she's been wonderful with her. I started playing chess again after a 30+ year break. While I'm playing for fun, I do care about improving my game. I look forward to my time with Flavia, she brings a lot of positive energy and encouragement to our lessons. She is also good at pushing me to do better. She is a patient teacher and a strong coach. I find myself hearing her voice inside my head when I am playing games between lessons, telling me to activate my pieces, be more aggressive or grab the open file. We have been working together for 5 months, in that time I improved my ELO from 880 to 1064. It's amazing to go look at games from when I first started and see how much better I am playing. I cannot recommend her strongly enough.
