Hi friends,
I'm Raiderduck and I believe this is my first post after 13 or so years of having an account. Cant rush these things!
(https://www.chess.com/member/raiderduck), I'm approx 2000 rapid/1700 blitz. Over the past two years, I've been getting coached by a strong FIDE Master and I've really enjoyed the experience. Now I'm interested in sharing a bit of knowledge with others.

I feel I can help anyone in the 1000-1600-ish range add on 100 or so points in a few sessions. All for free, I just want to do a few sessions with different people to see if I like coaching in general (plus the gf says I need to work on my patience so I figure this is the perfect opportunity) , and just to give back to the community a bit.

Im 39, I've been a full time poker player since I was 24, plus a musician and other interests, learned chess via my Dad growing up and remember being about 1300 on yahoo chess back in the dial up days. Didnt play for several years when I was heavily into poker, but have done regularly for the last 5 or so years, and moreso in the last 2 years getting (proper) coaching, I've gone from about 1750 rapid to 2000 in that time.

I like tactical, open positions, gambits and sacrifices. I am accused of playing "click and hope" regularly.
White - specialist at 4 knights, English attack, pretty good at most 1.e4 variations. Black I play Najdorf sicilian and dutch, which I consider myself quite strong at, and am just becoming what I consider adequate at kings indian defence. I am happy to help anyone who plays other openings, but dont expect me to be a specialist.

Who I can help and what I need from anyone interested.

Speak english
Be interested primarily in Rapid (or longer).
Play regularly, be keen to learn and ideally have a specific goal or aspect you would like to improve at.
Be available for skype/meet lessons once every week or so for the next few weeks.
Be rated in the range of 1000-1600 (I'm flexible here but that seems about right).
Be prepared to take on constructive criticism and (try to) break your bad habits.
Be prepared to review your games and study a few hours a week (ie working on improving instead of just mindlessly playing)

Who I cant help -
Bullet players
People wanting to learn some opening I dont know.
People who arent willing to (try to) break bad habits, dont practice or review their games.
People who play the french defence or tend to like closed games (not totally ruling you out but theres probably a better free coach out there for you).

If you're somewhat the right person and tick most of the boxes above, I'm confident I can help you gain an extra 100 or so points in a quicker time than what you would have otherwise done without any help.

Lessons will consist of

Game reviews
Fixing your weak spots in tactics and strategy via reviewing appropriate master games.
Learning new concepts
Any random chess questions you have
Excersises + playing out scenarios vs each other
Playing friendly/unrated games

If you're interested, drop me a message in this thread or inbox me. Look forward to hearing from you happy.png If you have any questions just give me a shout. I will take on the first 3-4 people that I think are suitable.
