I think the problem with chess mentor is that it throws you into the middle of a master game and expects you to find the best move?! That is not a reasonable expectation without laying a groundwork for analysing the board... i've found silman's books in general to be similar
I'm finding chess mentor rediculously hard... I seem to have almost NO strategic knowledge. Often times I find the first (key) move intuitively (which I consider rather impressive) but then I miss the continuation... Other times I find the 'alternate' correct move where my 'mentor' suggests something 'simpler' ... and yet I can't find it.
Just depressing...
