yes, it's very good. It's very nice for beginners. Way better than a book. Isn't there a way to try a couple lessons before buying? Trust me, you don't want to buy ICC membership if the idea is to learn. ICC is just great for playing live.
Chess Mentor, do you recommend it for a beginner?
I have the demo Chess Mentor and I had the subscription to Mentor on this site for a couple of months. I discovered Chessimo, and at my level, I found that I was learning alot quicker and I felt like it was more organized with Chessimo. Chessimo has a free demo on their site that you can try.
chess mentor is a powerful tool. im about 1500blitz and 1900 on this site. I highly recommend it for a beginner. the lessons focuses on things u might never realize was important until you play a real game struggling with..what am i suppose to do now? and even if you think ur tactics are real good..the lessons focused on tactics just kicks u in the butt. I find it real useful but im not sure if i am improving or not. only time will tell
it's real useful too compared to books because it tells you why your moves are right and why they are wrong and if you really think ur wrong moves are right, you can even talk to the lesson creator about it. to sum it up, it's a tool for people who wanna improve their chess but are also really lazy.
Hello:
I understand how each chess piece is able to move but I would like to improve my game so i can compete online but I am torn between purchasing ICC where I have played before uncompetitvely of course or purchasing Chess Mentor which is a little more expensive but it may offer more to a beginner like myself than ICC would.
To those that use Chess Mentor, do you like it? Do you recommend it?
Thanks in advance,
Joe
