I just looked on the cm page and it is offering a yr. for $99

Is this for real? I would get a year unlimited using chess mentor now for $99?

I am a beginner-intermediate. Would a year's lessons be too hard for me?

Please tell me more.

Yes, this is for real. Chess Mentor for a year is a bit discounted as opposed to Chess Mentor by month so you are getting a great deal I would say. And the Chess Mentor lessons are geared towards all levels so I am sure that you will find something which fits your needs. I would highly recommend it!

Thanks. How does the subscription program compare to the CD ROM. Is the content, interface, etc. the same? Do you all sell the CD ROM?

I travel a bit and I think I would feel uneasy knowing my subscription was going forward while I was not home to enjoy it.

The content for the online Chess Mentor has all the content from the CD versions plus even more new instructional content which continues to be added each and every month. The CD version of Chess Mentor can be found at www.chessmentor.com

I like the one on chess.com alot better then the one on CD. The layout is more modren looking. The CD i used looked exactly like the video that is posted on the page patzer gave a link 2. Its usable but the free 10 lessons i used on chess.com were more enjoyable then the small number of lessons i tried from the CD.

Going to be using my 3 hours of chessmentor i get with my subscription fiarly soon =D

You are right. The picture on the web page showing chess mentor CD does not look as clear and as clean as the Chess Mentor trial that I tried on chess.com.

Do you have the CD? If so, are you subscribing to Chess Mentor monthly/yearly in addition to having the CD?

I'm not sure what I want to do...

Chess mentor is great.  I'd suggest trying it a little bit first... if you like it and/or find it helps you... by all means subscribe for a year.

the web product is MUCH better than the CD. and there are about 3,000 lessons. if you do 8 a day you'll finish in a year ;)

Yes Chess Mentor is very very good! But remember that only if you work hard there will be improvement. There is no magic trick that makes you understand chess better. If you are willing to study with a serieus attitude then Chess Mentor is a very helpful tool!
