(not) Boring championship

The world championship match has already seen 10 games. Only two of them ended in a win for one side, and the rest in a draw. This is understandable, because games at this level usually end in a draw. However, sometimes it seems to me that Gukesh and Ding simply don't feel like it. In today's game, the end came after only a dozen or so moves. In another game, Ding kept offering Gukesh a draw by repeating the position three times. Another time, Ding let go of his balance three times and Gukesh never caught it. I wonder if anything else will happen in this match, because nothing has changed since the last seven games. Do they want the match to end in a playoff? However, I would like this championship to end as soon as possible, or for Ding and Gukesh to try a little harder, because it's just boring me. Also, how can you think about one move for half an hour or even 40 minutes, only for your opponent to respond with the best move after a few seconds. Among other things, the meme "Ding chilling" has already been created, which refers to something. If you disagree with me, respond, and if you do, you can also write something. It took me a while to write this, so I would like you to appreciate it, because it is also my first topic about something.

I actually rarely watch it live, but rather watch the summary and highlights from IM Dawid Czerw later.

Ding endeed showed why he is a world champion ..he outplayed Gugesh so brutally at game 12 , even Gugesh did not make even one actual mistake ..!!

it really look's like Ding needs to face some serious challenges before he get's in right mood and finds that extra motivation to give his full potential on fight for championship .. Gugesh is just right guy to make this 'battle' so interesting .. they both so wonderful and creative chess players ..yes, i find this not at all boring .. this championship battle is so good chess as chess can be ..great players and a so many great and entertaining games already ..and what is best , there is still games left and everything is possible for both of players .. As my opinion , what ever happens and who ever wins the title .. either of these two wonderfull players should not feel like a looser , they deserve and will have my honest respect , hope all the 'chessworld' feel the same !

The boys finally started trying. True, in the final parts, but good. Greater emotionswink

I think game 14 will be epic. Tomorrows game will be a draw I predict & then Ding will have white in the last classical game. Oh it's gonna be on then.......

TBH this is a pretty exciting world championship. Lots of different off-beat openings, no Berlin or Petroff theory battles, chances for both sides, no short GM draws. Of course, if you want to see less draws, watching U2000 tournaments or Blitz might be the better option.

maybe?

I think the match has been great. A couple of the draws were rather lifeless—neither side pushed for anything. But the draws in games 7 and 8 were as exciting as any of the decisive games.

the two games that Gukesh won could have gone either way—Ding missed chances to gain a big advantage. So, there has been lots of action.

If we see a draw in game 13, will Ding play safe in 14 or go for it

I follow the WCC for the very first time really close and am super stoked. GO Ding!

The match between Ding and Gukesh ended with fantastic action! This was my first time watching the WCC and I couldn’t have wished it to be more unpredictable and exciting!

yes, the 14th game was such a cruel example of how cruel Chess is .. you need to stay 100% focused and never give anything free for your opponent , especially when you feel safe, have full control and momentum ..!

yes, Ding made such a misjudgment when he voluntarily handed over his leading position and momentum at game 14 in order to force a draw , when Gugesh did not have any ways to win but only if Ding blunders .and that was at the end exactly what did happen .. Gugesh did not win the title because of his chess was better than what Ding had .. he won the title because he was more determinant and focused on winning and his opponent made a brutal blunder .. this is a good lesson for everyone who aims for to reach his or her target's to be nro. 1 .. do not voluntarily give away your leading position and speculate to have a draw ..as your opponent is going to punish you as hard as possible and will smile big if at the end , you blunder and loose the game ..
