The Chess Community is growing and with it the interest of top Level Games and Tournaments. Wouldn't it be nice to have an official (FIDE) Chess Championship that combines classical, rapid and blitz? This ist the idea: one year there ist the qualification and every other year there is a tournament of 8  Top-Players. The New Chess Championship!

Classical, rapid, and blitz are different games.
It is like an athletics competition with 100 m sprint, 1500 m, and a marathon.

Second try: what makes the Chess Championship more interesting?

• League Stage with 3 Points for a win
• Knockout Stage with Armageddon Tiebreak
• Only winning matters

What if we had a 2-year-cycle with a Championship Year and a Qualification Year.

Championship Year (winner of each competition qualifies for the next championship year)

• Chess Championship Knockout Stage with 8 Players
• Grand Chess Tour
• FIDE World Cup
• FIDE Grand Swiss

Qualification Year (winner of each competition qualifies for the next championship year)

• Four Candidate Groups (8 Players each) competing in a double round robin (3 Pts for a win) for a spot in the knockout stage. Only winning matters.

Championship Knockout Stage

This leads to a three week knockout stage of classical chess.

120 Minutes for 40 Moves, 30 Minutes + 30 Seconds Increment

Armageddon 120 Minutes for White | 90 Minutes for Black
