"Has Bobby Fischer returned from the dead?!?!"

Were Bobby Fischer to rise from the grave and return to the board, how'd he be received in today's world?! Between Scandinavian soccer fans, calculating caruana-machines, and 'interesting' American samurais, the answer should be quite clear. Mr Fischer wouldn't exactly be getting much love or respect. And of course, Bobby would no doubt have some 'kind' words to explain these bright folks as well. Now with that in mind, let's take a look at who he'd most resemble. If it takes you more than 3 seconds, you clearly haven't been following the chess world much. Only one answer makes any sense. Hans sMOKE Niemann!!! Once in a generation talent, you against the world mentality, and not overly fond of their peers. Only when Bobby broke their egos, they'd get up and applaud, but todays' SOKOLOVers throw tantrums when sMOKEd.

It has of long been whispered that Niemann is possessed. Perhaps that demon is the #3 on your all-time list.

If Fischer were alive what would he say about Gaza?

AussieMatey

I think he'd say that Gaza Kasparov was one of the greats, but not quite in his class.

If Bobby was alive today, there would be a much better chance, that he could have gotten much better treatment, for his mental illness.

Niemann isn't that good at all. At 20 years old he's not a prodigy anymore. If he intends becoming the clear number #1 in the world I suggest he get to it fast. There are people younger than him rated higher than him. If he was 15 now and had done all that jazz like beating Carlsen then it could be a possibility.

Niemann hype was strong for a while, there's a reason it fizzled out. At best he becomes a new Nakamura.

He would probably get canceled before he even plays a game

Bobby Fischer had no mental illness. He was misunderstood though, which is an entirely different thing from having mental illness.
