Thanks for the reply Schachmonkey. I just emailed USCF. Their preliminary answer is that there is a Committee for US Chess Accessibility and Special Circumstances. They published a guideline for Accessible Chess Events. Way back in 1961 the US did send a team to the Olympiad for the Visually Impaired.
As yet no other information and no answer why no team this year. I can only conclude that Chess for People with Disabilities is not an active topic in this country.
The recent Chess Olympiad for People with Disabilities was a wonderful event in Serbia. Does anyone know why the USA did not send a team ?
