a nice caro kann exchange for black. This can be a slow opening but my main goal is usually as follows,
1. Develop pieces
2. Create pawn chain “pawn crystal”
3. Get rook on open c file
4. Created a backward white c pawn
5. Pressure backward pawn/trade queens
6. Trade down in a winning endgame with superior pawn structure hopefully up a pawn
sometimes some tactics arise trying to accomplish this plan like in the game above!
i don’t mind playing the exchange as black because the games are usually very similar, and all of my pieces are safe while I try to carry out my plan
