black problems

I play a friend in class every day, and we always seem to open the game the same way, but this sequence tends to lose the game for me.  Anybody got any tips on improvement?(I play black)

That looks ok.  It looks like almost a Colle system or Stonewall without c3.  Since his black bishop is blocked in, try to exchange the other one to give you more control over the white squares or make him move the bishop on d3.  Not immediately, develop first. You could play Nb4 or even Nf6-e4.  Try to break in the centre with e5 to get your c8 bishop in play more.  Do they go to endgames?

Here are some other choices: 3.e4; 3...d6 or c5; 4.e4; 5...e5

Your opening is okay.  You don't lose these games against your friend because of your opening set-up. Maybe you make some tactical mistakes later in the game ?

What happens (hopefully happened) to me sometimes is that I like to fianchetto the king-side bishop too, after the short side castle i tend to trade of my bishop to early in the game. If the opponent then manage to land his dark squared bishop on h6 (in this case) my life is usually very difficult. This games is often lost for me.

What you are playing is ok, but here is some advice: When you fianchetto a bishop, try to control the diagonal with pawns. This means playing things like ...d6 and at some point ...c5 so that your bishop's presence is felt more and it is harder for your opponent to limit the bishop's influence. In general you don't want a fianchettoed bishop to be the only piece covering squares of that color. This is another reason to adopt the ...d6 and ...c5 ideas, since then pawns control these squares too, and you won't have as many weaknesses if the bishop gets traded off.

you can't put your knight on c6 in this position because you need ...c5 to be able to attack his pawns.
