what's your faverite openings? please give examples

Ruy Lopez-For the positional player this is an excellent choice, as this opening demands a good strategic understanding.

French Defense-Typically leads to closed strategic positions, and is very solid. Botvinnik and Nimzovich were playing great French defense.

Slav defense-Solid, not quite as dynamic as the Semi-Slav but still giving Black reasonable play. Pawn structure is similar to that of the Caro-Kann.

Grunfeld-This is a good opening that many players of the White pieces feel uncomfortable playing against.

I've just recently regained interest in the game and the kings indian attack has been the easiest for me to remember.  I understand that it's simplicity is also it's weakness because it's considered passive.
